Padmanbha beat her 7 month old daughter Shagun to death. Her baby lived with her for only 3 months after spending 4 1/2 months in the hospital due to health related issues after premature birth.

Shagun suffered fatal head injury from mother hitting her or bashing her head against a hard surface. The baby suffered 8cm and 11 cm fracture to the skull as well as injuries to legs. Post mortem found some old injuries to the skull, cracked ribs and bleeding behind the eyes. Injuries of baby shaken, squeezed by the ribs, legs pulled and twisted. Scan revealed baby died of catastrophic injuries to the head. She died at the early hours of August 15, 2017 after she was rushed to Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone, East London.

Padamanbha spent several years trying to conceive with her husband but succeeded with IVF. She gave birth to her baby in February 2016. The baby was born premature and suffered medical issues which kept her in the hospital for 4 1/2 months. After discharge, she needed to be fed a special diet via tube. She had Eczema and a small hole in the head. She required surgeries and number of health support staff tasked to monitor her progress.
