UNVEILING THE NEW PROFESSOR FROM OGORI

BENJAMIN OLUSOMI BOLAJI

Doctor Benjamin Olusomi Bolaji the erudite and brain powered medical doctor has joined the league of professors. He is the Chairman Faculty Board of Anesthesia, National Post Graduate Medical College, Lagos. He is the head of Department of Anesthesia, a Faculty he joined in as lecturer 1 in 1998.

He was associate Lecturer in Anesthesia, University of Ilorin from 1992 to 1998 where he rose to become the head of department in Anesthesia since 2001.

He was born in Ogori to the family of Mr. Bolaji from Eminefo Family of Okpa in Ogori, Ogori Magongo Local Government of Kogi state. He attended St Peter’s primary school Ogori and St Andrew’s Okene.

The little boy’s brainpower took him from the village of Ogori to the prestigious Kings College, Lagos, where he came out in flying colors with grade one distinction in WAEC. He proceeded to university of Ibadan to sturdy medicine and graduated in 1983. He did his internship at Abubakar Balewa Univeristy teaching hospital (ABU) and served in Imo state in 1984.

His professional career took him to Bauchi as medical officer, then Arewa Hospital Jos, he was also at Usman Danfodio University teaching hospital (UDUTH) where He had residency training in Anesthesia. He also had residency training at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital as well as University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital UCH.

Professor Olu Bolaji attended a clinical attachment course in Anesthesia for Kidney transplant at Mansoura University, Urology and Nephrology center, Egypt in 2009. He was elected fellow of West Africa College of surgeons (FWACS) in anesthesia 2010.

He is the 24th Professor from Ogori, Ogori Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi. The smallest local Government in Nigeria.

He is married to Olabimpe Oladunni Olu Bolaji, nee Osheidu and they have beautiful children.
