FRSC TO COVER 45 CORRIDORS DURING EID-EL-FITRI SPECIAL PATROL

FRSC’s bid to bring down road crashes to the barest minimum of 15% and 31% fatality rate, due to the massive vehicular movement anticipated during the festive season across the country, the Corps Marshal Doctor Boboye Oyeyemi has directed regular and special Marshals to cover 45 corridors during the special patrol commencing on 13 June to 18 June 2018.

Some of the corridors are Sokoto-Jega-Birin Kebbi corridor, Abuja-Ogori-Isua-Owo corridor, Ibadan-ogere-Sagamu amongst others. To guarantee free flow of traffic, reduction of road crashes, improved enforcement of traffic laws and enhanced public enlightenment, the Corps expects to pay first-rate focus on applicable traffic control, failure to install speed-limiting device by commercial vehicle, overloading, lane indiscipline, driver’s license violation and other traffic offences.

According to Bisi Kazeem, the Corp public Enlightenment Officer, all patrol vehicles, ambulances, tow trucks, motor bikes, radar guns, alcholizer and the entire operational logistics be fully deployed for the exercise. Similarly, all zebra and roadside clinics would be active 24/7 throughout the duration.

There would be friendly collaboration with military units, the Police, Civil defence, DSS and other relevant agencies.

All road users are advised to abide to safety rules in other to stay alive as well as safeguard the safety of others.
