MR & MRS ROTIMI ABRAHAM: THE TRAILBLAZERS

I have profound admiration for this young man. When I was looking for a school for my daughter years back I had certain criteria in mind, primarily was, a good school near my house that I would not have to writhe under scorching sun during traffic gridlock nor agonize during fuel scarcity.

I went to a popular school as directed by friends; the receptionist was grouchy. I guess the huge number of parents trying desperately to get their children and wards into their “popular” school must have made her insolent, that was a huge turn off for me. That huffy behavior was a big negative to me. I took off.

As I drove home, I spotted this man, who turned out to be my church and unit member standing at the entrance of a school. It was well past resumption time and I presumed he must own the school. In great excitement, I inquired if he owned the school. He shook his head with an emphatic NO. My excitement waned immediately.

Nevertheless, I came down to chat with him. I wanted to make inquiries about the school, it was then he revealed that the school belonged to his wife. He gave a helping hand from time to time when necessary especially the financial aspect that could muddle up to confuse her. I was deeply impressed.

Afterwards, I always saw him helping around the school before going about his own personal business.

Months later, I got talking with this gentleman again; I can precisely reminisce what we were discussing. It was either business or testimony ….. Church matters. This gentleman is serious minded who has little patience for idle chitchats.

He may not recall this conversation but I went home with an impression and tucked this vividly at a corner of my mind. He told me the story of the school. How it began.

He said when he INQUIRED FROM HIS WIFE WHAT SHE WANTED TO DO, she responded that she desired to run a school and so the school began.

He was around to assist her set up and nurture the project. The days he had to give up the comfort and pleasure of his own car to pick or drop pupils when they did not have adequate buses. Today they have more than enough buses.

The school did not break even until the seventh year. From inception, he sowed in his money, time and energy to help his wife’s school to grow. He supported the vision of his wife through needed assistance.

Some men would have given up; some men would have harassed or hounded their wives for putting them into a business that was capital intensive with a long-term profit.

Some wives would have long time forgotten the taste of luxury for that duration.

Today, the school has expanded and is still expanding; it is going to be huge because of synergism.

Running with your spouse’s vision is walking in the covenant, it is easing your financial burdens, and it is making life easier for you.

The success of your wife is your pride and glory. Technically, your spouse’s business is also yours especially if you were there to nurture the business with her.

I celebrate you my brother ROTIMI ABRAHAM, the husband of the gentle, quiet non-assuming Mrs. Abraham of TRAILBLAZERS SCHOOLS, GWARIMPA.
